Sober Intoxication and Intoxicating Sobriety — The Superior Satisfaction of Jesus Christ
TWO BOOK PROJECTS. ONE DEEPER SATISFACTION.
Sober Intoxication — the author's current 173-page manuscript cover. Editorial development continues; no release date or ordering link has been announced.
What satisfies the hungry and thirsty heart? Psalm 107:9 points beyond our restless substitutes toward the goodness of God. Joab Rico Mission is developing a companion pair of books exploring spiritual longing, the dangers of counterfeit satisfaction, and the surpassing worth of Jesus Christ.
Sober Intoxication
The full-length project, Sober Intoxication, explores addiction, disordered desire, honest repentance, personal testimony, the gospel, and the superior pleasure of knowing Christ. Its central ambition is not to glamorize intoxication, but to direct readers away from enslaving substitutes and toward enduring hope, wise support, and lasting spiritual renewal.
The campaign's memorable invitation is to exchange alcoholic zeal for apostolic zeal—a call to love God, serve others, and proclaim Christ with a renewed life. This is a spiritual and pastoral theme, not a medical claim about treatment or recovery.
Intoxicating Sobriety
The companion project, Intoxicating Sobriety: The Superior Satisfaction of Jesus Christ, is being developed as a shorter devotional invitation to drink deeply from the promises of Scripture, cultivate sober-minded Christian joy, and practice faithful discipleship in ordinary life.
For readers and ministry leaders
The projects are intended for individual reflection, discipleship conversations, and compassionate church ministry. Addiction and recovery can involve significant medical, psychological, and social needs. These books are not substitutes for professional addiction treatment, counseling, emergency assistance, or accountable recovery support.
Both projects remain in editorial development. Final page counts, formats, publication dates, and purchase links have not been announced.
